  • Ziua Serviciului Istoric al Armatei.
  • 1442: Bătălia de la Sântimbru dintre oştile reunite ale episcopului George Lepeş de Alba, nobilimii şi ale lui Iancu de Hundedoara şi oştile turceşti conduse de Mezet Paşa. Oastea creştină este înfrântă, episcopul Lepeş cade pe câmpul de luptă, iar Iancu de Hunedoara este rănit în luptă şi se retrage.
  • 1930: Ministerul Apărării Naţionale semnează un contract de furnizare de armamanet cu Uzinele Škoda, în valoare de 1.250 milioane lei pentru puşti mitraliere şi 5.500 milioane lei pentru tunuri (în total 6,75 miliarde lei). Contractul, denumit ulterior „Afacerea Škoda”, va duce la declanşarea celui mai mare scandal politic din perioada interbelică.
