Basarab I

Basarab I cunoscut în documentele contemporane şi ca Bazarad sau Ivanko Bazarad şi supranumit în epoca modernă Întemeietorul, este socotit ca fiind fondatorul Ţării Româneşti. Nu se cunoaşte anul suirii sale pe tron; acesta a fost situat în jurul lui 1310, potrivit unei vechi tradiţii. Basarab a domnit până la moartea sa, în 1352. După cum este menţionat într-un document oficial emis în 1332 de regele Ungariei Carol d'Anjou, a fost fiul unui anume Thocomerius.
